Term One

From 3 February

Families can attend tours of our school.

Tours run every Thursday morning at 8am. Bookings are essential and are made by contacting our school Niddrie campus office on 93758400.

Term Two

From 2 April 2026

Families at government primary schools receive the Placement Information Pack for Parents/Carers (for the 2027 school year) from their primary school.

Only families at non-government primary schools (Catholic, Independent, home educated or other) can access this pack here.

Essendon Keilor College OPEN NIGHT


8 May 2026

Closing date for families at government primary schools return the Application for Year 7 Placement 2027 Form to their primary school.

Families at a non-government primary schools must email this completed form directly to us at essendon.keilor.co@education.vic.gov.au by this date.

24 June 2026

Families at government primary schools are notified of the outcome of their application by their primary school. Families at non-government primary schools are notified of their application outcome by Essendon Keilor College or another school listed in their preference list.

From 25 June 2026

Essendon Keilor College sends families that have been offered a place a welcome letter affirming their acceptance into our school. Applications for our High Achievers Program, Sporting Academies and Instrumental Music programs are sent to families as part of our welcome pack.

Families that have not been offered a place can commence lodging a written non-placement appeal to us using the official Year 6 to Year 7 Transition Placement Appeal Form. Government primary schools will provide families with this form and assist with this process. Families from non-government schools can contact essendon.keilor.co@education.vic.gov.au to access this form.

Term Three

17 July 2026

Closing date for families to lodge the Year 6 to Year 7 Transition Placement Appeal Form to essendon.keilor.co@education.vic.gov.au.

11 August 2026

All families at government primary schools return their Year 7 Placement Acceptance Slip to their child’s government primary school, even if the child will be attending a Catholic or Independent school.

21 August 2026

Applications for our 2026 Year 7 High Achievers Program close.

Term Four

5 November 2026

2027 Year 7 Parent Information Evening

From mid November 2026

High Achievers Program applicants are interviewed and positions confirmed.

8 December 2026

Orientation Day for all Grade 6 students (2027 Year 7 cohort).
