Year 10 Media Science Gallery Excursion

By Mady Moate, Year 10 Media student

On Wednesday the 28th of April, the Year 10 Media class went on an excursion to the Science Gallery Melbourne. During the visit, we learned about the concept of distractions by exploring the exhibition. We looked at different examples of how distractions can affect our focus and everyday life.

After the tour, we created our own podcasts using microphones and headphones. In pairs, we chose a topic about something that distracts us, For example some groups explored the distractions of social media and how it impacts concentration and presented it in different styles, such as a conversation, interview, or storytelling format. This activity helped us understand how media can be used creatively to communicate.
