World Teachers’ Day

By | Events

Australia will celebrate and thank the teaching profession on World Teachers’ Day – Friday 30 October.

Teachers (with support from parents and carers) have ensured education continues across the country this year, despite major challenges. It’s reinforced the significant role teachers play in the lives of children and students, their families and communities.

On Friday 30 October, say a big thank you to teachers and celebrate the bright future of teaching.

Welcome Message

Essendon Foyer

Year 10, 11 and 12

Purpose, passion, positivity and principles drive learning at our college, we are preparing students for tomorrow’s world.

It’s a world that requires specific new knowledge, skills, capabilities and qualities – the ones we’re helping students develop with the support of expert teachers in a safe and stimulating environment.

Essendon Keilor College has a proud history of serving the Essendon community. We began at our Buckley Street site in 1913 as the prestigious Essendon High School and our forebears envisioned a school that could last a century. Today, we are still focused on providing an education for the future world.

Our professional staff, willingly go the extra mile for their students, they are mentors and coaches, counsellors and advocates. As such they steer students through their studies attending to the whole person; knowing them and caring about their academic progress, personal development and wellbeing. Student voice is very important to us.

We provide a comprehensive range of courses in VCE, VET and VCAL to facilitate the aspirations of all our students. Our recently upgraded facilities and resources ensure students have all they need to excel in pursuing studies in their chosen fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), the Arts, Languages, Design & Technologies, Sport or the Visual and Performing Arts.

Term 3 2020

By | Events

As you are aware, the Victorian Government has made some significant announcements about the introduction of new measures for schools across metropolitan Melbourne and the Mitchell Shire to reduce the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19).
These include a change to arrangements for schools at the start of term 3.
There will be five student-free days from Monday July 13 to Friday July 17 for all of our students at the Keilor and Niddrie campus and Year 10 students at the Essendon Campus Students at the Essendon campus will attend VCE and VCAL classes from July 13th.
Classes are expected to resume for all students on Monday 20th July 2020.
During this period teachers will be completing their planning for a return to school and the possibility of a return to online learning.
We like all of you, feel unsettled by this, however if the decision is made to resume remote learning in term 3 the college is in a strong position. The positive learning experiences of term 2 with further planning and refinement will ensure that all students of Essendon Keilor College will be supported to learn and achieve together.
As soon as the Department of Education release further details, we will inform you of our plans in term 3.
Stay well,
