Essendon Principal's Welcome

The Essendon Campus is committed to providing relevant, aspirational pathways for all students. Our range of VCE, VET and VCAL study options ensures program flexibility and optimises student choice, engagement and post school destinations. Partnerships with other educational providers are actively sourced to create further opportunities for applied learning.

Specialist programs include Performing Arts, Sport and Recreation, Languages and Visual Arts.  An onsite Language Centre provides a supportive environment for International Students and enables them to confidently transition to mainstream classes.

Teachers with expert knowledge and delivery of senior secondary curriculum and assessment practices assist students’ achievement of high quality learning outcomes.  Tutorial support is readily available and programs targeting effective revision and examination techniques are offered during specific term holidays.

Our students consistently demonstrate excellence in their performance and participation in academic, vocational, sporting, and cultural activities.  They also demonstrate excellence in the quality of the relationships they form, especially with their peers and teachers.

Student voice and leadership are integral to the culture of the Campus.  Students are encouraged to participate in decision making processes relating to campus operations, particularly in the areas of facilities and event planning.  International tours, Victorian and interstate camps, local community projects and onsite extra-curricular activities provide students with a breadth of experiences to complement their study programs and enhance their involvement in the wider school community and beyond.

The Assistant Principal leads the Student Management Team comprised of Level Co-ordinators as well as Student Welfare, Careers and Pathways specialists.  This team is responsible for monitoring students’ academic progress, social development and emotional wellbeing.  Collaboration with students and parents/guardians is greatly valued and regular communication via phone or email is common practice.
